Online Whiteboard Instructions

We have set up an interactive whiteboard for your online tutorials. We strongly recommend using Google Chrome to access the whiteboard. (If you don’t already have Chrome installed, it can be downloaded here.)

You should meet your Tutor on the whiteboard at the scheduled tutorial time. We recommend using Zoom as a video link alongside the online whiteboard – please share details prior to your first online tutorial. Other options for a video link include Skype, WhatsApp and Facetime – please be in touch to agree on the best one to use. It is possible to record the tutorial when using Zoom or Skype.

We recommend a drawing tablet, particularly for Maths tutorials, to make writing on the online whiteboard easier. A selection of drawing tablets may be found here. Note that they come in different sizes: 6×4 is the size of a postcard and 10×6 is just smaller than an A4 page.

It would be a good idea to try out the whiteboard before your first tutorial. The whiteboard is accessible any time, including outside of tutorials.

  • Please note that you may be asked to set a username and password the first time you use it.

  • There is a User Guide with useful tips and a user manual. To access it, click the Menu button at the bottom left of the whiteboard screen, and then select User Guide.

  • Don’t forget to bookmark the page in your browser by clicking the star to the right of the address bar, so that you can easily find it in future.

  • You can drop documents into the whiteboard, but only PDFs, PNGs and JPEGs – Word documents are not supported.

If you have any technical difficulties, please contact our team (info@oxfordtutors.com) — we will be happy to help.
